Q1: What is the TAKEX MST Series?
A: The MST Series consists of through-beam multi-axis light curtain sensors with individual outputs for each optical axis and a proportional analog output.
Q2: What models are available?
A: The current lineup includes MST104, MST108, MST112, MST116, MST120, and MST124.
Q3: What is the detecting distance?
A: All current MST Series models provide a detecting distance of 10 m.
Q4: What is the beam interval?
A: All models use a 40 mm beam interval and detect opaque objects Φ60 mm or larger.
Q5: What is the maximum detection width?
A: MST124 has 24 optical axes and provides the maximum detection width of 920 mm.
Q6: Is there a separate output for each optical axis?
A: Yes. Each optical axis provides an individual NPN open-collector output, allowing selected beam signals to be used separately.
Q7: How does the analog output work?
A: The analog output changes proportionally to the number of received or blocked beams and provides a 1–7 V adjustable output.
Q8: Is Light-ON/Dark-ON operation selectable?
A: Yes. A selector switch integrated into the receiver allows Light-ON or Dark-ON operation to be selected.
Q9: What is the response time?
A: Both the individual NPN outputs and analog output respond within 20 ms.
Q10: What detection requirements are suitable for the MST Series?
A: The series is suited to wide-area multi-beam sensing where individual beam positions or proportional received/blocked beam counts are required.
