FAQ
Q1: What is the TAKEX US-T04AN?
A: The US-T04AN is a through-beam ultrasonic sensor designed for double-sheet, film seam, and package seal detection using a matched transmitter and receiver pair.
Q2: What applications can the US-T04AN detect?
A: It can detect double-fed sheets or films, heat seals on plastic bags, thermal compression seals on metal bags, continuous package seams, and feeding errors in printing and packaging machines.
Q3: How does the US-T04AN detect double sheets or seals?
A: Ultrasound passes from the transmitter through the target to the receiver. Differences in received ultrasonic intensity produce different analog output levels, allowing the sensor to distinguish sheet thickness and sealed areas.
Q4: What is the detecting distance of the US-T04AN?
A: The detecting distance is 20–60 mm, with an optimum distance of 40 mm.
Q5: Is detection affected by color or printed patterns?
A: Ultrasonic sensing does not depend on visible light, so detection is not affected by the color, printed design, or surface gloss of the target.
Q6: What output does the US-T04AN provide?
A: It provides a 1–4 V analog output proportional to the received ultrasonic intensity.
Q7: What is the response time of the US-T04AN?
A: The response time is 3 ms or less, supporting detection of narrow transverse and longitudinal seals in continuously operating equipment.
Q8: How is the US-T04AN adjusted?
A: It uses a teaching method that allows the detection reference to be set according to the actual material and operating conditions.
Q9: Can the transmitter and receiver be interchanged with another pair?
A: They should remain paired. Each transmitter and receiver set is coordinated with the same serial number, so the original matched combination should be maintained.
Q10: How can the US-T04AN be used when digital ON/OFF outputs are required?
A: The 1–4 V analog output can be connected to an analog sensor comparator. The DMC-A4A can convert the analog signal into up to four ON/OFF outputs for equipment control.
