FAQ
Q1: What is the TAKEX DL-S Series?
A: The DL-S Series consists of long-range background suppression photo sensors using limited-range reflective detection with a two-segment photodiode.
Q2: What models are available?
A: The lineup includes DL-S100R, DL-S100R-J, DL-S202R, DL-S202, and DL-S202-J.
Q3: What is the maximum detecting distance?
A: The maximum detecting distance is 2 m. The 1 m models cover 0.1–1 m, while the 2 m models cover 0.1–2 m.
Q4: Why is detection less affected by target color?
A: The two-segment photodiode determines distance from the received-light position rather than light intensity alone, reducing the influence of target color and material.
Q5: What light sources are available?
A: DL-S100R, DL-S100R-J, and DL-S202R use 650 nm red LEDs. DL-S202 and DL-S202-J use 880 nm infrared LEDs.
Q6: Does the DL-S Series provide both NPN and PNP outputs?
A: Yes. All models provide NPN/PNP open-collector dual outputs rated up to 100 mA at 30VDC.
Q7: What is the response time?
A: The response time is 2 ms or less.
Q8: Can the sensing distance be adjusted?
A: Yes. A five-turn optical NEAR/FAR adjustment is provided.
Q9: Are M8 connector models available?
A: Yes. DL-S100R-J and DL-S202-J use M8 connectors and can be combined with straight FBC-4R2S or angled FBC-4R2L 2 m connector cables.
Q10: What applications are suitable for the DL-S Series?
A: The series is intended for general machinery, logistics, automotive and parts processing, food, and pharmaceutical equipment. DL-S202 is also shown for long-distance detection of tires in different sizes.
