FAQ
Q1: What is the TAKEX SS20 Series?
A: The SS20 Series consists of slim through-beam light curtain sensors with a 20 mm beam pitch for wide-area presence and passage detection.
Q2: What is the detecting distance?
A: All current SS20 models provide a detecting distance of up to 7 m.
Q3: What is the beam interval?
A: The beam interval is fixed at 20 mm throughout the series.
Q4: What is the minimum detectable object size?
A: The series detects opaque objects Φ32 mm or larger.
Q5: What detection widths are available?
A: Detection widths of 140, 220, 300, 380, 460, 540, 620, 780, and 940 mm are available.
Q6: Are NPN and PNP outputs available?
A: Yes. Standard SS20-T models provide NPN open-collector output, while corresponding -PN models provide PNP output.
Q7: What is the difference between A mode and O mode?
A: A mode turns ON only when all optical axes receive light. O mode turns ON when one or more optical axes receive light.
Q8: Can SS20 detect holes or tears in opaque sheet material?
A: Yes. In O mode, light passing through a hole or tear on one or more axes produces an output signal.
Q9: Can two SS20 sensor pairs be installed next to each other?
A: Yes. Master/slave anti-interference operation reduces optical interference between adjacent sensor pairs.
Q10: What are the response time and protection rating?
A: The response time is 15 ms or less, and the protective structure is IP66.
