FAQ
Q1: What is the TAKEX SS40 Series?
A: The SS40 Series consists of slim through-beam light curtain sensors with a 40 mm beam pitch for large objects and wide-area presence or passage detection.
Q2: What is the detecting distance?
A: All SS40 Series models provide a detecting distance of up to 7 m.
Q3: What is the beam interval?
A: The beam interval is fixed at 40 mm throughout the series.
Q4: What is the minimum detectable object size?
A: The series detects opaque objects Φ52 mm or larger.
Q5: What is the maximum detection width?
A: SS40-T32 and SS40-T32-PN provide 32 optical axes and a maximum detection width of 1,240 mm.
Q6: Are NPN and PNP outputs available?
A: Yes. Standard models provide NPN open-collector output, while -PN models provide PNP output.
Q7: What is the difference between A mode and O mode?
A: A mode turns ON only when all beams receive light, while O mode turns ON when one or more beams receive light.
Q8: Can SS40 detect holes or tears in opaque sheets?
A: Yes. In O mode, light passing through a hole or tear on any optical axis produces an output.
Q9: Can two SS40 sensor pairs be mounted next to each other?
A: Yes. Master/slave anti-interference operation helps reduce optical interference between adjacent sensor pairs.
Q10: What applications are suitable for the SS40 Series?
A: Applications include large-object passage detection, transfer-cart entry detection, remaining-person detection in monitored areas, and hole or tear inspection in opaque sheets.
