FAQ
Q1: What is the TAKEX SSXU20 Series?
A: The SSXU20 Series consists of 9.9 mm ultra-thin flat-on light curtains with selectable parallel and cross-beam sensing modes.
Q2: What models are available?
A: Eight models are available: SSXU20-T160, T240, T320, T400, T480, T560, T640, and T720, covering detection widths from 160 to 720 mm.
Q3: What is the beam interval?
A: All SSXU20 models use a 20 mm beam interval and provide 9 to 37 optical axes depending on model.
Q4: What is the detecting distance?
A: Parallel-beam mode operates from 0 to 4 m, while cross-beam mode operates from 0.5 to 4 m.
Q5: What is the minimum detectable object?
A: Parallel mode detects opaque objects Φ25 mm or larger, while cross-beam mode detects opaque objects Φ15 mm or larger.
Q6: Are NPN and PNP outputs available?
A: Yes. The SSXU20 Series supports selectable NPN or PNP open-collector output with a load rating of 50 mA at 30VDC or less.
Q7: When should parallel or cross-beam mode be used?
A: Parallel mode is suited to general wide-area presence and passage detection, while cross-beam mode improves detection of thin, small, or irregularly positioned objects.
Q8: Can two SSXU20 sensor sets be installed next to each other?
A: Yes. Parallel-beam mode provides mutual interference prevention for up to two adjacent sensor sets.
Q9: What is the protection rating?
A: The SSXU20 Series is rated IP65 and uses an aluminum housing, polycarbonate front cover, and die-cast zinc alloy mounting section.
Q10: What applications are suitable for the SSXU20 Series?
A: Applications include rubber plate and sheet passage detection, variable-position metal workpiece detection, plastic pallet sensing, and passage detection of various structural steel shapes.
