FAQ
Q1: What are TAKEX FR8BC and FR8EBC?
A: They are M3 threaded slim reflective fiber optic units for object presence and surface-difference detection from one side of the target.
Q2: What is the difference between FR8BC and FR8EBC?
A: FR8BC has a φ0.5 mm fiber core and R15 bending radius. FR8EBC has a φ0.75 mm core and R20 bending radius. Their detecting distances also differ by amplifier.
Q3: What is the detecting distance of FR8BC?
A: FR8BC reaches 770 mm with F100R in long-range mode.
Q4: What is the detecting distance of FR8EBC?
A: FR8EBC reaches 410 mm with F85RN in long-range mode or 380 mm with F100R in long-range mode.
Q5: What are the tip and cable sizes?
A: Both models have M3 threaded tips and φ1.25 mm fiber cables.
Q6: Which model has the smaller bending radius?
A: FR8BC has an R15 allowable bending radius, compared with R20 for FR8EBC.
Q7: Can FR8BC and FR8EBC fibers be cut to length?
A: Yes. Both models use 2 m free-cutting fibers.
Q8: Can FR8EBC distinguish the two sides of an optical disc?
A: Yes. FR8EBC can be used with a high-resolution fiber amplifier to distinguish differences in reflected light from the two disc surfaces.
Q9: Which fiber amplifiers are compatible with FR8BC and FR8EBC?
A: Both models can be used with F100R, F2R, F70R, F70AR, F80R, and F85RN. Detecting distance depends on the amplifier and operating mode.
Q10: What is the tightening torque for FR8BC and FR8EBC?
A: Thread tightening torque must not exceed 0.8 N·m for either model.
